Since some people recommended the discussion board for avoiding the spam we're trying that for the moment.

Hey everyone,
just a quick note that for the moment I have disabled the comments on the main game page. Itch has been getting spammed for the past month or so and I've grown a bit tired of manually deleting, banning & reporting half a dozen spam comments every day.
I'll turn them back on either when the spam stops or itch adds some actual moderation tools. Until then I'm afraid no comments over on the main game page.

My only worry might be is that it's kind of 50/50 if people will actually use discussion threads most of the time I see them just have one comment and that's it. But If it makes your life easier and the games comment section not full of shady links make sense to do it.
Yeah, it's not really that I *want* to have the discussion board, I prefer the regular comments myself. But if it currently is the one thing where I don't constantly have to go chasing after spam links it's just the only option outside of just turning comments off entirely.

Yeah, I guess we can try that and see how it goes. Have them activated for the moment.
Why not do that where you can open up several discussions or something, might be easier to see what you personally want to take a look at if that is the problem.
I have seen that here. Then again it might not help with spam idk.
