Road to Conway Update 5!

I broke my d key yesterday so that'll be fun ctrl+v-ing it in here all the time!

It's another middle-of-the-month update to give you a bit of a taste of what to expect with update 5 of Conway. We've got some goodies in this one!
Too much to actually mention it all here, so there'll be some surprises left over, come the beginning of the month. :)

But let's dive into some of it:

Art!

Of course, we've got some new art in this bad boy! Namely the proper images for the scene in Nomax's cabin on day 2, and Arthur getting his proper character sprite. The final artwork turned out much different from the placeholder that is in update 4, so I hope it'll be a pleasant surprise. :)
Arthur actually has a little extra trick up his sleeve! And that is that he'll be the first character that'll get two different lighting versions to his character! Something that'll really make the way the characters look during the game screen that much more of a unified whole, rather than just characters in front of a background.

Sound!
This area also has been expanded, where we only had ambiance in the last one, now we've got some small little additional sound effects for that extra bit of flair all throughout the game. And naturally can toggle both ambiance and SFX on or off separately depending on your preferences.

There's much more to come as well, it's actually a bit of a weird update, where it actually changes and improves so many areas, yet it feels like one I'm not quite 100% happy with because of how some parts of it went an what could have been.
Especially during the initial patreon release, I felt that way, but now looking back at it it's overall a much more positive view I have for it and I hope you are all excited for it as well!

There's also a really exciting addition to my Patreon too. Your character can be a part of the game now!
So we're gonna have quite a few pieces of artwork in the game, right? Naturally, it's a visual novel. And every now and then these pieces will include background characters, say in a tavern, or maybe some sailor hauling cargo in the background.
Well, if these spots exist, why not give you all a chance to have your characters occupy them?

That's what the Maritime Menagerie tier and above will have as their perks. Basically, whenever I need some character to fill out a spot like that, I simply draw someone from those patrons, and their character will take that spot.
Naturally, the coherence of the world will take first priority, so if it's too sparkle-dog, or an alien or something then it won't be included. But if possible I'll do my best to make their character work in the world. Maybe giving them a headdress that covers some unnatural coloring, or of course, perhaps the owner just lets me modify it to some extent.

So hey! If that sounds like something you would like to get in on, you can do so by joining the Maritime Menagerie (or above) tier over here:
